what we do

What we run for UK businesses

FRS 102 and FRS 105 records

Books kept to the standard your accounts are prepared under, whether that is FRS 102, Section 1A, or FRS 105 for a micro-entity.

VAT under Making Tax Digital

Digital records maintained in MTD-compatible software with the digital links intact, and the return workings reconciled to the ledger each quarter.

Purchase and sales ledgers

Supplier bills coded and queued for approval, sales invoices and receipts allocated, and aged debtor and creditor listings every month.

Payroll journals and pensions

RTI payroll postings, auto-enrolment pension contributions and the control account reconciliations behind them.

Bank reconciliation

Every account, card and payment provider reconciled monthly, with the reconciliation attached to the pack.

Year-end pack

Trial balance, schedules, fixed asset movement and disclosure workings, in the format your accountant needs for the statutory accounts and the CT600.

the local rules

The filings your books have to support

We prepare the records, reconciliations and workings behind these. Your local licensed adviser signs and files them.

VAT and MTD

VAT is 20% standard-rated. Registration is required once taxable turnover passes £90,000 in a rolling twelve months. Making Tax Digital requires digital records and digitally linked returns — which is a bookkeeping obligation before it is a filing one.

Corporation Tax

The main rate is 25%, with a small profits rate of 19% below £50,000 and marginal relief between £50,000 and £250,000. The CT600 is due twelve months after the period end; the tax itself is payable earlier.

Companies House

Annual accounts and a confirmation statement every year. Filing deadlines are hard and the penalties are automatic, so the year-end pack needs to be ready well before them.

PAYE and RTI

Real Time Information submissions on or before each payday, plus P60s and P11Ds. We reconcile the payroll control accounts to what was reported.

Auto-enrolment pensions

Employer contributions, assessment and re-enrolment obligations, posted and reconciled monthly.

Self Assessment support

For directors and sole traders, we provide the underlying figures your accountant needs for the personal return.

Rates, thresholds and deadlines above are stated as a general guide and change from time to time. We confirm what applies to your entity on the scoping call, and we work alongside your local licensed adviser on anything that requires formal advice or a filing signature.

the systems

Software we work in for UK clients

Xero and QuickBooks Online

The two most common MTD-compatible systems among our UK clients. We work inside your file, and your accountant keeps their adviser access.

Zoho Books

Our home ground. As a Zoho Advanced Partner we can implement it, migrate you onto it and then run the books on it — the same team does both.

Overlap with your morning

India is four and a half to five and a half hours ahead depending on the season. Most of your working morning is our afternoon, so same-day answers are normal.

Every set of books is a different amount of work.

Tell us your entity type, rough monthly transaction volume and the software you are on. We will come back with a fixed monthly fee.

how it works

How we work with you

step one

Scope and access

A call to understand the entity, the volumes and your filing deadlines. Scope and fee in writing before anything starts.

step two

Catch-up, then current

Any backlog is cleared period by period and reconciled, with a written note of every adjustment, before we take on the live month.

step three

Monthly close and handover

Books closed on an agreed date, reconciliations attached, reporting pack delivered, and the workings your local adviser needs sent on the same cycle.

questions

Common questions

Do you file our VAT return and CT600?

We prepare the workings and reconcile them to the ledger. The submissions are made by you or your UK accountant, who holds the agent authorisation with HMRC. We are your bookkeeping team, not your filing agent.

Are you Making Tax Digital compatible?

Yes. We work in MTD-compatible software and maintain the digital records and digital links MTD requires, rather than re-keying figures into a spreadsheet on the way to the return.

Will you work with our accountant?

Yes. They keep their adviser access to the file, we prepare the year-end pack in the format they want, and we answer their queries directly with you copied.

Can you handle a micro-entity on FRS 105?

Yes. We keep the books to the standard your accounts are prepared under, whether that is FRS 105, FRS 102 Section 1A, or full FRS 102.

What about payroll and auto-enrolment?

We post and reconcile the payroll journals and pension contributions whether payroll is run by you, by a bureau or by us. The RTI submissions themselves are made by whoever holds the PAYE agent authorisation.

Our bookkeeping is a year behind. Can you fix it?

Yes, and before a Companies House deadline is a common time to ask. We agree the period, work forward with full reconciliations, and give you a written summary of the adjustments.

Do you work in Xero?

Yes, and in QuickBooks Online, Zoho Books, Sage and Tally. We work in what you already have unless you want to move.

How do the working hours line up?

India is four and a half to five and a half hours ahead of the UK depending on daylight saving. Your morning is our afternoon, and our week runs Monday to Saturday.

What does it cost?

It depends on transaction volume, VAT registration, payroll and the reporting you want. Send us the contact form and we will come back with a fixed monthly fee.
